UNDP Zambia Resident Coordinator Annual Report 2011.
The Zambia Country Office is headed by Ms. Kanni Wignaraja.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is committed to helping the Government of Zambia achieve the national development goals outlined in the Sixth National Development Plan and The Zambia Vision 2030 as well as the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
UNDP works with the Government, UN agencies, civil society and development partners in four broad programmatic areas; democratic governance, economic development, social and human development, and conflict prevention and security.
UNDP plays a dual role both as a development partner and as custodian of the Resident Coordinator system, as mandated by the UN General Assembly. The UNDP Resident Representative also serves as the UN Resident Coordinator.
UNDP partners closely with the United Nations agencies in Zambia to ensure coordination of UN operational activities, including through Joint Programme Activities.
